Centre Structure - Motorised or Linking Only

The design of the Centre Structure took much work by Xirasol Engineers. The North/South Movement is done by a Crescent which  is used to take the force of turning the mainbeam and spread it across a metal impregnated belt recessed in a channel at the bottom of the crescent. The Belt moves around gearing that is turned by a 0.75KW 3 Phase Motor attached to a 25:1 gearbox. The Movement is smooth and is capable of handling high Winds in all areas of Wind Zone A. The Crescent is off-centre and moves around a spherical bearing in an aluminium rivet attached to the Centre Structure.

A 2nd Ais motor is attached to a Gearbox that drives a belt that turns a shaft with a Universal Joint that turns a CNC Machined Screw that drives an oil impregnated nut in a Stainless sleeve that gives Xirasol's Dual Axis Solar Tracking System its East/West Movement.
